Marc Schulze joined the Leibniz Junior Research Group “Constructing Transnational Spaces of Higher Education: International Branch Campus Development at the Interface of Network and Territorial Embeddedness” in May 2018. Marc Schulze studied Geography, Political Science and English at the University of Freiburg (Germany), the University of Sheffield (UK) and the University of Strasbourg (France). In 2016, he graduated from Freiburg University with a postgraduate thesis on the interplay between universities and regional transformations.
During the following years, he gained practical and research experience in the field of mobility programmes, cooperation and internationalisation of universities through his work as Research Assistant at the University of Munich and Teaching and Research Associate at the University of Freiburg. His current research is in the broad field of Geography of Knowledge, Science and Education with a particular focus on the political geographies of global higher education and transnational academic mobilities.
